 Forgive us for the blatant disregard of this blog for the last several months. We've been working hard on several different fronts, and the blog got pushed off to the side. So to update you on a few of the boards we've worked on these last few months, we want to highlight our Albatross model for the sole purpose that they have been coming out insane these last few months. The tail rockers, tail width, and foil have been slightly refined, and the glass jobs have been spot on. Our latest one that is still being built has a slightly more rounded tip of the nose that looks really clean. We are really excited about this model right now and we think you'll enjoy what you see. With summer here, having a dedicated noserider in the quiver is pretty essential for those small peeling days/weeks between the bigger swells. Get perching!

Boards En Route to TCSS

How quick the time has gone! It was a great (and HOT) summer back on the Great Lakes. We saw lots of people, made some new friends, reconnected with some old ones, did some networking, and dreamed up some sweet sleds for freshwater sliding! Oh, and we definitely got our share of freshwater waves, which is always a good thing. It's clear that the surf scene on the Great Lakes is as vibrant as ever, and we are proud to be serving up great boards for Great Lakes surfers.

While our time in MI was wonderful, we are excited to be back in action in CA. We have several custom boards lined up and we are sending two more performance longboards (a 9'0" and a 9'6") to Third Coast Surf Shop for the fall season. Be looking for them by the end of September! In addition to shaping, we are eager to get back into the salt water, and are stoked that there is a solid south swell ready to hit just in time for the Labor Day weekend. See you all out there!

The Crane Noseriding Sequence

Free Handplane!

Just dropped off a brand new handplane at Third Coast Surf Shop to add to their prize bin for their grand opening celebration next weekend. This handplane is 19.5" long featuring a through handle. It is made out of recycled fence board found in a scrap pile, and glassed for added strength using leftover fiberglass and resin from the factory I work at. Custom handplanes available anytime! Nothing better than saving the planet and getting a new surf toy in the process! We also dropped off some t-shirts and stickers to be given away. Go check them out if you're in the Great Lakes region!

Quad Fish for Third Coast

Shaped up this 6'4" x 21 3/4" x 3" quad fish for Third Coast Surf Shop. I'm very excited how this board came together. The color work is a freehand resin foam stain, just to add a little life to an otherwise clear board. More to come soon!

Migration Surfboards at Third Coast Surf Shop

We are pleased to announce that Third Coast Surf Shop in New Buffalo, MI will now be carrying Migration Surfboards! Third Coast Surf Shop is a full service surf shop serving the Great Lakes surfing community. Our first shipment of boards are currently being shaped. I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. Available will be a 6'4" double winged quad fish, a 7'4" quad egg, a 9'3" high performance longboard, and a 9'8" noserider. This is particularly exciting for me since I consider Holland, MI (about an 1.5 hrs. north of New Buffalo) my hometown. The Great Lakes surfing community is a tight knit group of dedicated surfers. They may not always get the best waves or the most consistent surf, but when the Lakes turn on, it can be as good as anywhere.
